Police say a call from a member of the public enabled them to prevent a large illegal rave from taking place near Tiverton over the weekend.
They found a number of people setting up a major sound system at Bampton Down on Saturday evening.
The equipment was confiscated and the people were made to leave - several revellers were also intercepted on their way to the location, and turned away.
Investigations are continuing and officers say they're seeking to prosecute the organisers.
