The on-going operation to prevent illegal raves in Devon is being highlighted after police successfully broke up an event as it was getting underway last weekend.
Thanks to early reports by local residents of vehicles converging on the site near Okehampton, they were able to disperse the revellers after just a few hours.
But they say the event proves the need for vigilance, as Devon's remoter areas are often chosen by the organisers of illegal events.
Detective superintendent Glen Mayhew says police are being proactive, with special 'rave patrols' and advice for those managing the land.
