...but policemen are getting slimmer
Policemen in Devon and Cornwall are getting slimmer, but policewomen are as fat as ever, according to figures showing the number of oversized trousers the force issues.
It's cut the pairs given to men with waist size 40 or above by about a quarter over the past six years, but women over size 20, after a slight fall, is back to where it was in 2010.
463 size 40-inch trousers were issued to men in 2010, but just 364 last year. There were more fat policemen in 2011 (or at least ones who needed most trousers), when 529 pairs were given out.
In 2010, 172 pairs of trousers size 20 or over were given out; more or less the same (171) as in 2015. Only 133 pairs were issued in 2013.
