A vigil to mourn the closure of Honiton hospital's beds has taken place this morning outside the building.
The local NHS clinical commissioning group says there's less demand for community beds these days and that extra staff are being taken on to care for people in their own homes.
But the Honiton Patients Action Group are up in arms after the wards were suddenly closed last week, even though the home care system isn't in place yet.
They say they were promised that this would not happen and that it has led to one patient, who wanted to be cared for at home, being transferred to Sidmouth hospital instead.
