A local rail users group have released their own report on the flooding of the railway line in Exeter last year.
Rail Future have analysed the weather and river conditions which led up to the closure of the line at Cowley Bridge junction and the Hele level crossing near Bradninch.
The group have come up with ideas including wider culverts at Cowley Bridge and better use of river gauges on the Culm to predict flooding.
it comes as Network Rail are due to meet local MPs early next month, to hear their concerns, and the Government has promised to work with the rail company to improve the network's resilience.
