New traffic controls are being introduced in part of Exeter, in an eight-week roadworks project which starts today.
The existing pedestrian crossing in Heavitree Road opposite the Pyramids centre will be moved and the path on Russell Street will be widened to create a cycle route.
The parts of Denmark Road and Russell Street leading to Heavitree Road will become one-way.
The work's being done in response to concerns about safety for walkers and cyclists, raised by local residents, and parents and teachers at Newtown primary school.
