A huge hoard of Roman coins has been found in east Devon... and could eventually go on show at Exeter's RAMM museum.
The 22 thousand copper-alloy Roman coins is one of the largest and best preserved ever to have been found in Britain.
It was discovered near Seaton in November last year... but is only today being made public.
The finder was local builder and metal detector Laurence Egerton, who was searching private land near the previously excavated site of a Roman villa.... and who reported his discovery immediately.
Exeter's RAMM museum is keen to keep the coins in Devon to be seen by local people - and is launching a fundraising campaign to enable it to acquire them.
