Bank says people have changed the way they do banking
Santander is to close 140 branches across the country, putting nearly 13-hundred jobs at risk.
The lender says it's because people have changed how they do their banking. Branch transactions have fallen 23% in the last three years and digital transactions have gone up 99%.
In Devon, 7 branches will go this year:
- Axminster on 2nd May
- Bideford on 25th April
- Brixham on 30th May
- Plymouth New George on 5th December
- Sidmouth on 20th June
- Tavistock on 23rd May
- Totnes on 27th June
