There's been a reprieve for Devon's threatened school crossing patrols, and some bus routes also under threat will now continue to be subsidised.
County councillors meeting this morning agreed some changes to next year's budget, although 46 million pounds of cuts are still being made.
The bus routes to be subsidised will be decided after a public consultation - and the school patrols will be funded for another year.
A service offering small grants to vulnerable benefit claimants will also continue after the Government put back funding it had withdrawn - and the county council agreed to top it up with a million pounds.
