Scientists are appealing for people to take part in a survey that will uncover possible health effects of marine pollution.
The University of Exeter Medical School is working with Surfers against Sewage to conduct the study.
The cleanliness of coastal water has improved in recent years -though there are concerns some three-thousand short-term pollution incidents in the UK will not have been picked up in water quality tests.
