Police are describing an arson attack on a war memorial in Crediton as a sickening act of mindless vandalism.
Wreaths laid on the memorial were set on fire at about 1.15 this morning - leaving scorch marks on the monument itself.
The culprits are thought to be two teenagers, a boy and girl aged 14 or 15 and wearing hooded tops, who were seen by a member of the public..
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on the 101 number.
