Exeter's branch of Starbucks has been targeted by protesters against the company's tax avoidance... who also highlighted the issue of homelessness.
The demonstrators, from various activist groups including UK Uncut and Occupy Exeter, handed out leaflets referring to Michelle Conroy, the homeless woman killed by a falling tree while sleeping rough near Western Way last month.
They said Devon County Council's cut funding for homeless people by 44 per cent in the last two years.. and some of the tax unpaid by Starbucks could have funded a shelter to keep people off the streets.
