Many people can't start the day without a strong coffee and now Exeter University is finding out whether caffeine can help tackle depression and bi-polar disorder.
The study will look at whether certain amounts of caffeine, combined with physical activity, helps people manage their moods.
Some people with mood disorders have been advised to avoid coffee, but others find it good for tackling low energy and motivation.
The study will aim to establish the real risks and benefits, and the university is asking for volunteers from three categories - those with bipolar disorder, those with depression, and those with neither condition.
