Taxi marshalls have been introduced in Exeter to prevent trouble breaking out in queues of late-night revellers.
Taxi ranks can be flashpoints for outbreaks of violence if people try to jump the queue.. and there can also be problems with unlicensed cabs picking up passengers.
The marshalls, who're now on duty in Sidwell Street and Fore Street every Saturday night, have been trained in the security industry, meaning they have conflict management skills.
