Three men have been arrested after a police operation in Crediton which led to trains being stopped as the suspects went on to the railway line.
The men, suspected of being involved in a burglary, had refused to stop for officers and made off on bicycles.
The pursuit took them to the railway bridge across the A377 near Crediton and the area around Ladd's Guns where police combed fields and farms.
The men were arrested for questioning over burglary, robbery and trespass.
