Some car parking charges in Topsham will now be reviewed after complaints that costs had increased too much.
In January the fee to stay in the Quay car park for four hours rocketed from £1.30 to £5.70.
A campaign led by Topsham Councillor Margaret Baldwin has to led to the promise of a review this year.
