Expectations flying high

Skies across Torbay will once again come alive for 2026 as organisers confirm the airshow is flying high and making a return.

This year's event was a huge success, bringing in £5 million to the local economy and attracting thousands of visitors. They even added a Friday night event for the first time, making it a three-day show.

Organisers are hoping to build on that momentum and make next year's annual spectacle even bigger and better.

As Caroline Cassett, CEO of the English Riviera BID Company, said, "This year's summer season has been nothing short of phenomenal...and we're already seeing visitors booking for the 2026 Airshow weekend!"

This year's event featured incredible displays, including the iconic Red Arrows, Typhoon jets, and Spitfires, which wowed the crowds over the three days.

Councillor Jackie Thomas added, "Similar events across the country have struggled to continue, but we've not only kept the show flying, we've grown it year on year. It's thanks to the unwavering support of the BID company, our sponsors, and the generous local businesses who continue to rally behind us."

They're currently securing sponsorships to ensure its continued success and are also looking for volunteers to join the team in various roles.

The English Riviera Airshow will return for its 10th anniversary, May 29th to 31st 2026.
