Incidents just hours apart
A driver and a pedestrian have died in separate collisions in Devon just hours apart on Friday.
In the first, around 3 a.m. on 8 October, a red Ford Focus was involved in a single-vehicle collision at Callington Road in Tavistock. A man who had been driving the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Then, less than four hours later, just before 7 a.m. police were notified of a traffic collision involving a Ford Focus and a pedestrian on a carriageway of the main A38 carriageway between Marsh Mills and Leigham Interchange near Plymouth.
The 21-year-old pedestrian died at the scene.
One carriageway of the A38 was closed for eight hours while police investigated.
Police are asking for witnesses to either incident to get in touch.
