Police were called to reports of a disturbance outside a house in the Townstal area of the town at around 1.40am on Thursday 6th December.
A man in his 20's was stabbed several time in his chest - he's in a stable condition in Derriford Hospital.
A 22-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were detained on suspicion of attempted murder.
Both remain in police custody and police are appealing for witnesses.
