It's in line with the national picture which shows the number of people out of work has fallen to its lowest level since 2008.
In Exeter there were 924 unemployed men and women in the city last month - 529 less than the same time last year.
The number of people claiming jobseekers allowance has also fallen elsewhere in the region - by 0.6 per cent in East Devon and 0.4 per cent in Mid Devon.
