The country's biggest union has joined the criticism of Devon county council's plans to stop running its youth centres.
The council says it can't afford to keep funding them but is looking for ways they can be taken over by voluntary or community groups.
It's consulting its existing 114 youth workers - whose numbers could be reduced to about 30 under the plans.
The Unite union says the potential loss of some of the centres - which give advice on careers, relationships and health - will lead to social problems in the future.
