An old Chinese vase handed in to a Honiton auction house has sold for nearly half a million pounds.
The owner had no idea of its value and the vase had been gathering dust for years before they decided to have a clear-out.
The 18th-century vase, just six inches tall, was taken to Chilcott's in Honiton - where partner Liz Chilcott says her husband recognised that it was something special.
The vase was eventually sold by Bonhams to a buyer in Hong Kong for £488,000.
