Four people have been injured after a man tried to stop young women being attacked in the centre of Exeter in the early hours of this morning.
He saw a group of women being hit in Fore Street and was assaulted himself when he intervened.
A woman suffered a broken nose, another person had facial injuries and a fourth victim had a broken arm..
Police are looking for at least one man they want to question and are also appealing for witnesses.
