The Governors of West Exe technology college have decided to postpone their application for Academy status.
It follows revelations that Head Teacher Steve Maddern earns £150,000 a year; more than the Prime Minister. Speaking on Radio Exe yesterday, City MP Ben Bradshaw called for an OFSTED investigation into how the school is being run, and called on the Education Secretary Michael Gove to halt the move to Academy status, which would give West Exe even more financial independence.
