Police hunt man with big-build who pounced from behind
A man who attacked a young woman in her 20s from behind in the early hours of yesterday morning is being sought by police.
The sexual assault took place between quarter past 3 and twenty to 4 at the junction of Mount Pleasant Road and Thurlow Road - off Pinhoe Road in Exeter.
The man’s thought to be around 30, big and tanned with short, black spiked hair - and possibly an East European accent. He was wearing a black tee-shirt with white writing on the front and dark jeans.
Police say such attacks are rare, but say people should always phone them if they’re worried they’re being followed.
Detective Sergeant Guy Biggar says: "We remind people to walk in groups and to stay in well-lit areas, particularly those females walking home following an evening out. We would advise people to get a lift home where possible from someone you know and trust."
If you have information you think may help track down the attacker, contact police via email on 101@dc.police.uk or by telephone on 101, quoting crime reference CR/043733/17. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers via 0800 555111.
