It happened at a property in Winsford on Saturday.
Avon and Somerset Police has launched a murder investigation after a woman was shot in a property near Minehead at the weekend.
Officers were called after what appeared to be the noise of a gunshot in Winsford at about 2.30pm on Saturday (22nd February).
A woman had been seriously injured by a gunshot and despite receiving treatment, died shortly afterwards.
A man is in police custody in hospital. He was also injured in the incident, suffering life threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital. He remains in a critical but stable condition.
A cordon remains in place whilst Crime scene investigators carry out a detailed examination of the scene.
