Woman's death is suspicious
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in North Devon.
Police were called shortly before midday on Friday 1 October to Brookfield Street, East The Water, following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman at an address.
A 43-year-old woman was dead at the property. Her next of kin have been informed.
Following initial enquiries, the death was being treated as unexplained, but it's now being treated as suspicious.
A 42-year-old man from Barnstaple was arrested on Sunday 3 October on suspicion of murder. He has since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries, and will report back to police on Monday 3 January next year.
Officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
