Young people in Devon are fighting the County Council's plans to stop running its 34 youth centres.
The proposals would save the council just over £1 million and lead to the loss of 60 jobs.
The council hopes volunteer groups will take over the youth centres.
The Devon Youth Parliament has launched an online petition and local protests are planned to gather support and encourage Council Leader John Hart to retain the service.
The council opened a consultation this week, running until the end of April, inviting anyone with ideas on a alternative system to express their views.
