More Information (Radio Exe is not responsible for external websites)
Come and join us at St Nicholas Priory as we celebrate the Festival of Archaeology.
Do you know that long before the Priory was built in 1087, the site was part of the Roman military fortress of the Second Augustan Legion and later Roman civilian town? Or that the Priory buildings that still stand are only a small part of the original medieval site, the extent of which was revealed through excavations in the 1970s onwards?
Learn all about us and more on our open day.
• Children’s activities and trails
• Exhibition revealing the archaeological history of the Priory site
• Local archaeological finds on display
• Find out more about our events coming up
