Exeter Library gets up to mischief for the Summer Reading Challenge 2018.
The Summer Reading Challenge 2018 is set to get off to a mischievous start this July with the ‘Mischief Makers’. The theme of this year’s challenge is inspired by the historic Beano comics, which celebrate their 80th anniversary this year. Exeter Library celebrates the launch of the Summer Reading Challenge on Saturday 14th of July at its city centre location with a packed programme of events.
Summer Reading Challenge is open to children aged 4-11 and is run by education charity The Reading Agency. Once signed up to the Challenge, children will be set the task of reading six books during the six-week school holiday.
Kate Mackenzie, Libraries Unlimited service development manager said: “Our libraries are gearing up for what we hope to be the biggest Summer Reading Challenge yet. Devon Libraries had over 11,000 participants in 2017 and this year it would be wonderful if even more children discovered how much fun the Challenge is.
