Honiton athlete Jo Pavey is officially opening the town's new day hospice Kings House later.
The £1.2 million building, with facilities for patients and their carers, has been up and running since February, but work's been continuing on the garden and signage.
The local community raised £260,000 towards the new hospice, which focuses on social and therapeutic services rather than medical treatment.
The opening ceremony takes place at midday.
