It's been revealed that East Devon district council received nearly one and a quarter million pounds from the sale of the Elizabeth Hall site in Exmouth to a hotel company.
The money from Premier Inn will be used to help pay for the creation of a new leisure and watersports area at Queen's Drive, with some also going towards a new deep water slipway at Mamhead.
Councillors agreed this week to channel the funding directly into Exmouth's regeneration rather than putting it into the overall capital programame.
