Devon Trading Standards say people whose tumble driers could be a fire risk are having to wait months to find out.
The company Whirlpool is currently offering checks on some of its Hotpoint, Indesit and Creda models after announcing that they may need 'improvements'.
But Trading Standards say the programme has a huge backlog - of up to 11 months.
It's because there's no evidence that the machines are faulty.
