That's one way to celebrate!

A soon-to-be 90-year-old man from Dawlish is set to celebrate his birthday in an extraordinary way.

Just days after turning 90, Michael Jordan will take to the skies on August 3rd for a thrilling wing walk.

This daring feat will see him strapped to a plane, performing twists, turns, and dives at 500 feet.

Michael is undertaking this challenge to raise £1,500 for two causes close to his heart: Hospicecare and the Rotary Club of Dawlish Water Charitable Trust.

Michael has been a dedicated member of the Rotary Club since joining in Exeter in the 1980s. He served on the club council for many years, eventually transferring to Dawlish Water where he continued his service on the committee.

He even served as chair, president, and secretary for three years, organising events and raising funds for the community.

Michael says, 'I've really enjoyed my time with the Rotary over the years and would like to do my wing walk to raise funds for them as a way of showing my appreciation for all the fun and fellowship I have had in the Rotary.'

This is not the first time Michael has gone above and beyond for the Rotary Club.

He was awarded a second Fellowship for his fundraising efforts, including organising a wastepaper collection that raised significant funds for local charities.

Michael is also honoured with an honorary membership in the Rotary Club for his long-standing dedication and valuable contributions.

Hospicecare holds a special place in Michael's heart as they cared for his brother Anthony, who passed away six years ago in the Exeter Hospice.

You can support and donate to Michael's epic challenge for either Hospicare or Dawlish Rotary.
