A new arctic fox has been welcomed to Devon

She needs your help to name her

Local wildlife park Wildwood Devon - part of the British wildlife conservation charity, Wildwood Trust - has welcomed a new arctic fox and now she needs the public’s help to find a name!

The fox arrived at Wildwood Devon, near Ottery St Mary, in December.  Where she joined the same enclosure as Miska, a fellow arctic fox. Social media followers and visitors to the park can vote from a shortlist to decide a name for the fox.

The name choices are Luna, Opal, Sigyn, Lumi, Aurora and Inari. oters will be in with a chance of winning an arctic fox experience to feed and see them up close.

George Hyde, Wildwood Devon Manager says: “we’re very excited to welcome our new addition into Wildwood. She’s settling in wonderfully and is getting on well with Miska, our other arctic fox.

“At this time of the year, arctic foxes have a thick, fluffy coat and look extremely endearing. We have no doubt that visitors to the park will be as smitten by her as they are with Miska. We look forward to learning which name people pick for her.”

The arctic fox is just one of many animals that call Wildwood home, including brown bears, red squirrels, lynx and otters. Currently, Wildwood Devon is undergoing a rebrand to bring the visual elements of the brand in line with its values, vision and mission.

You can listen to Beth Markey, speaking to Josh Tate about how you can vote for the name of the arctic fox.
