New research has shown that nearly 70% of people in the South West would like to help reduce the isolation of elderly people in the area, but over a third don't have the confidence to do so.
The survey, commissioned by Nesta and the Cabinet Office, encourages organisations to submit ideas to that bring people together in new ways to combat the problem.
Although 13% of people in the South West are already trying to reduce the isolation of elderly in their community, 34% of respondents said that they would like to help but don’t know how.
