It's been confirmed that Shaun Sawyer is the chosen candidate for Devon and Cornwall's Chief Constable.
He's been leading the force as acting chief constable for more than a year, and was among four candidates - the other three from other forces - assessed by the selection panel yesterday.
His appointment - which had to wait until after the election of the new Police and Crime Commissioner - will have to be approved by the Police and Crime Board early next month.
