Appeal after Bideford attacks

Two people have been arrested

Police are appealing for witnesses after two separate attacks in Bideford on December 30.

In the first incident, a 56-year-old man was attacked by three people on Bideford Quay near to the Lundy Shore Office/public toilets on Bideford Quay at around 5.30pm. He was repeatedly kicked and suffered facial injuries in the incident.

A 39-year-old man from Instow and a 20-year-old man from Torrington have been arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm in connection with the incident and have been released on police bail until January 27.

Another separate attack took place outside Crabby Dicks Lounge & Bar on Cooper Street at around 7.30pm in which a 20-year-old man from Torrington was knocked unconscious after being attacked by a man and a woman.

Anyone with any information about either assault is asked to contact police on 101 quoting the relevant crime reference numbers - CR/116948/19 and CR/116971/19 respectively.
