The woman lost consciousness while walking her dog along a lane
Police say a woman in her 60s who was found unconscious in an alleyway yesterday afternoon, 'could have been assaulted'.
The incident happened at around 3pm close to a public footpath off Horne Park Road in Ilfracombe.
The woman lost consciousness while walking her dog along the lane.
She was found a short time later lying in a bush opposite the path by a passer-by, who alerted the emergency services.
The woman was taken then to North Devon Hospital and is now recovering at home.
Officers are appealing for witnesses.
