It happened near Exeter St David's on Friday
An 88 year old woman is in hospital with serious injuries after the collision.
She was on a zebra crossing on Cowley Bridge Road when she was a hit by an ambulance responding to a 999 call at around 3pm on Friday (22nd November).
She's said to be in a stable condition at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, after being transferred from the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
Officers from the Exeter Roads Policing Unit are investigating the circumstances of the collision and appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said:
“Following this dreadful incident on Friday afternoon, we are working closely with Devon & Cornwall Police to investigate exactly what happened. Our thoughts are very much with the patient and their family and we would like to extend our very best wishes to them.”
