'Arctic Convoy' veterans receive Russian bravery medals

Fifty Devon world war two veterans who helped transport vital supplies to Russia during the conflict have been honoured for their bravery today.

A Russian diplomat has presented medals to the former members of the Arctic Convoy at County Hall.

They braved attacks from German U-boats and fighter planes to sail through snow storms to Northern Russia.

For many years British soldiers weren't allowed to receive foreign medals for historic acts - but the rules have now changed.
