Holidaymakers tied up and assaulted
Police are appealing for information after holidaymakers were tied up and assaulted by men in balaclavas during an aggravated burglary in North Devon. It happened at a cottage in Welcombe in Torridge between 9-10pm on Saturday 15 September.
Two armed black men with West Midland accents forced their way into the property. The suspects stole phones and cash.
Detective Constable Ben Cartwright from Bideford CID, said: “Two black men wearing balaclava’s with regional accents from the West Midlands forced entry into a house whilst armed.
“We are currently of the belief that this was a case of mistaken identity and the wrong property and people were targeted by these two individuals. Thankfully the victims were not seriously hurt, but understandably shaken up by the experience."
Police are appealing for witnesses, they ask you to call 101.
