Armed offices an Exeter street last Thursday night after reports of a man making threats
An armed response unit, along with a number of police officers and dog handlers, were sent to Bernadette Close in Whipton just after 10pm.
Police say after a two hour operation, a man in his 20s from Exeter, was arrested at 12:30am on Friday.
One witness said there were five patrol cars and a riot van at the scene of the operation. Anyone with further information is asked to call police on 101 quoting crime reference CR/110689/17.
