A number of 999 calls were made to police
A woman has been arrested after her car was seen travelling on the wrong side of the A38 in Devon last night.
The VW Golf was being driven southbound towards Plymouth near Ivybridge just after 9pm
The 53-year-old from Kingsteignton was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to provide a breathe test and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
In a statement, police said: "At least two near misses were reported, one from an HGV driver. Other motorists signalled the driver about the danger."
Officers attended and the vehicle stopped just past Saltram overbridge in the outside lane a short time later.
The driver has since been released under investigation.
