Child has serious injuries
A child is in hospital with serous injuries following an incident at a property in Torquay.
Emergency services, including Devon Air Ambulance, were called just before 4 p.m. on Friday following reports of a child being badly hurt in an incident in Bench Tor Close.
A woman in her forties was taken into police custody.
The child was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment. No further details of the age or gender of the child, nor the nature of the injuries, have been released by police, although it is understood locally that the injured child has been stabbed.
Police believe this is an isolated incident and are not looking for anyone else in connection to it.
