Event celebrates sunny success
This year’s Devon County Show could be a record breaker.
Show Manager Lisa Moore has hinted that figures could surpass the 97,000 visitors seen back in 2023.
Three days of blue skies and wall-to-wall sunshine across Westpoint certainly help boost the number of spectators.
Before the gates even opened, records were already smashed for the number of pre-sale tickets bought by show-goers.
Each day saw substantial crowds. The opening day was particularly popular, featuring Martin Clunes launching the Heavy Horse Festival and the new Alpaca Café and Family Fun Zone.
Friday's attendance received a boost from the visit of Show President, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, and a well-received Q&A session with Kaleb Cooper from Clarkson's Farm.
Saturday proved to be another major draw, likely because children go free with any paying adult.
Lisa Moore expressed immense satisfaction, extending gratitude to the dedicated volunteers and, crucially, to "each and every visitor who purchased a ticket."
As a charitable event, all profits are directed back into supporting the rural community, making the strong attendance a huge success for both the show and its beneficiaries.
