Crews have difficult accessing cove near Salcombe
An early morning call-out to a beach in South Devon is the result of a firework display that went wrong.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called at 7.23 am on Sunday to a grass fire at Soar Mill Cove, Salcombe.
A fire engine from Kingsbridge went first, but found it difficult to get to the blaze because of problems with access. Another fire appliance from Modbury was sent for, along with a 4x4 vehicle.
The fire service says the fire was an accident, resulting from a firework display.
Soar Mill Cove is a sandy beach below the crags of Bolt Head, and is only accessible on foot from the South West Coast Path. One website claims it's well worth the effort getting there, possibly by canoe from Salcombe.
