Exmouth and Teignmouth rescue teams involved
A motionless yacht which was thought to have no one on board has been helped by three RNLI crews: two from Exmouth and one from Teignmouth.
Several people called the coastguard on Saturday evening to say a boat about a mile off Budleigh Salterton didn't appear to be getting anywhere.
Both Exmouth's lifeboats, an all-weather one and an inshore vessel, launched in response to the calls.
They located the 16-ft trimaran which, contrary to initial concerns, had two people crewing it,
They were trying to sail to Teignmouth but had become becalmed in a slack tide with no auxiliary power.
The lifeboat crews escorted the yacht across the bay to be met by the crew of Teignmouth's lifeboat and helped to shore.
Having ensured the safety of the vessel and its crew both Exmouth Lifeboats returned to the lifeboat station.
