Earlier this morning (2nd May 2018), a first-floor bedroom was destroyed by an accidental fire.
Fire crews from Danes Castle and Middlemoor were mobilised to reports of a domestic property fire in Exeter earlier today. On arrival, crews requested a third appliance to attend due to smoke issuing from the property.
Crews used four breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets, two safety jets and two thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the property.
The fire caused 80% fire damage to the first floor bedroom and caused 100% smoke damage to the rest of the first floor.
The cause of the fire was deemed accidental.
