Exeter targeted in jewellery scam
All that glisters is not gold, especially if you're approached in Exeter city centre by people peddling jewellery.
Pedestrians are being approached by strangers offering gold coloured items that they describe as as gold for a low price. They often go a bit further than a polite request, sometimes attempting to put necklaces or rings on victims and remove other personal jewellery in the process.
Police want anyone experiencing this scam to contact them on 101 at the time, or report it to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040, or online at http://www.actionfraud.police.uk"
